This is your chance to influence the Parish and District Council in what matters to you.  The whole questionnaire is quite large, so in order to simplify things and enable you to complete only the sections you are interested in, we have split it up into a number of smaller questionnaires for each of the key areas.

Please complete the first questionnaire giving us a little background information on yourself before moving to the others.

You can answer as many or as few of the questionnaires as you like.  And please ask other members of your household to do the same.  We would like feedback from EVERYONE, both young and old.

If you have no interest or opinion in a particular section or question, simply leave it out. Each section should take no more than a few minutes to complete.

Background Information Questionnaire

Please give us a little background information on yourself.  This will enable us to assess views across different age groups, genders and interests.

Please note, your information will be protected.  None of the personal information gathered will be used for any other purpose than statistics for the Parish Plan.  It will not be passed on to third parties or used for marketing purposes.

Community Questionnaire

This questionnaire deals with general aspects of living in a village community.  Are the streets clean?  Are you fully informed about what's going on in the village? Are the local services adequate?  Are there anti-social behaviour issues in the village?  Do you feel part of the community in which you live?

Environment Questionnaire

This questionnaire deals with the environment in which our village is situated.  Not just the environment within the village, but also the farmland and surrounding countryside, the common, the estuaries, the wildlife and the footpaths that enable us to appreciate it all.  What do we need to do to protect the place in which we live?

Housing and Development Questionnaire

This questionnaire deals with that old conundrum... our children need places to live, and development of new housing is inevitable.  But how many houses should be allowed?  And what sort of houses should be built?  And what about the infrastructure of the village - can our schools and roads deal with many more houses?

Did you know that most of Great Wakering is in a flood risk zone?  Do you know what is being done about it and what is not being done about it?  Do you think we should be doing more?

Transport Questionnaire

This questionnaire deals with transport issues in and around the village. Is there adequate transport to surrounding schools, towns, hospitals etc?  Are there improvements to be made?  Is there adequate provision for the elderly and disabled?

Traffic Questionnaire

This questionnaire deals with traffic and congestion issues in and around the village.  How do you get to and from work or school. Is there a parking problem?  Are there issues with speeding around the village?  How do you rate the local bus services?

Education Questionnaire

This questionnaire is for adults who have children currently at school.  There is an education questionnaire specifically for school children under the "Youth Questionnaires" section in the left hand menu.

Services Questionnaire

This questionnaire deals with services such as Community Police, Adult Education. the Post Office, Childcare etc.  What do you think of our local services?  Are we getting good value for money and are we getting a good service?

This questionnaire deals with "non-essential" facilities in the village... those "nice to have" things that give us pleasure and comfort, such as pubs, clubs, allotments, places of worship and places to unwind.  Does Great Wakering tick all the boxes for you?

Where do you shop?  Do you use the local shops and supermarkets?  Do you buy from local farmers?  How can local businesses improve in order to secure more trade?
